I'm Sophie
Professional McKenzie Friend & Accredited Divorce Coach
Why did I become a McKenzie Friend & Divorce Coach?
I’d always felt that I was pretty resilient and good in a crisis but getting divorced totally floored me. I lost all self-confidence, felt completely worthless and saw the end of my marriage a personal failure. Stuck in a rut of guilt, shame, hurt and sadness, I couldn’t see a way forward, thinking I’d forever struggle to make a success of anything.
Friends and family rallied around, but what I really needed was some professional support, expert techniques and advice to help me overcome the feelings that consumed me. It wasn’t just the emotional upheaval, but the practical challenges that come when your relationship ends that I found overwhelming. Add to that the experience of protracted family court proceedings and it's safe to say, I ended up feeling emotionally broken.
So, having survived a tumultuous few years learning how to navigate divorce and single parenting, I am now committed to helping others survive and thrive post divorce. Drawing from my own personal experience as well as the expert knowledge I have gained from training to become a Professional McKenzie Friend and Accredited Breakup and Divorce Coach Practitioner I’m dedicated to helping you start a new chapter in your life.

What Does A McKenzie Friend Do?
A McKenzie Friend offers calm, practical support to help you feel more confident and prepared when representing yourself in Family Court.
Most parents heading to family court - whether sorting out arrangements for their children or finances after a split - simply can't afford a solicitor or barrister. What many don't realise is that you don't have to face it alone.
As your McKenzie Friend, I'll walk you through what to expect at each stage before it happens, so you're never walking into a hearing unprepared. I'll help you get organised, prepare everything you need, and understand the process from start to finish.
I can't give legal advice or speak on your behalf in court, but I can sit beside you, keep you focused, and help you express yourself clearly when it matters most.
Think of it as having someone firmly in your corner - someone who understands how overwhelming this feels and is there to make the whole process that little bit more manageable.
