I'm Sophie

Accredited Divorce Coach & McKenzie Friend

What Does A Divorce Coach Do?

Navigating the legal process of divorce can be an overwhelming and bewildering experience. As a divorce coach, I am a trained professional who helps people before, during and after the breakdown of a relationship through a combination of coaching skills as well as detailed knowledge of the divorce process.

When you’re going through separation or divorce, it can be hard to make rational decisions as you are emotionally drained and often feeling totally overwhelmed. I can help you make decisions that are in your best interest by providing an objective and non-judgmental perspective.

Focussing on emotional and practical support, I help clients cope with the upheaval of divorce and separation, using my expertise to encourage and empower clients on their divorce journey.

Why Did I Become A Divorce Coach & McKenzie Friend?

I’d always felt that I was pretty resilient and good in a crisis but getting divorced totally floored me. I lost all self-confidence, felt completely worthless and a failure. Stuck in a rut of guilt, shame, hurt and sadness, I couldn’t see a way forward, thinking I’d forever struggle to make a success of anything.

Friends and family rallied around, but what I really needed was some professional support, expert techniques and advice to help me overcome the feelings that consumed me. It wasn’t just the emotional upheaval, but the practical challenges that come when your relationship ends that I found overwhelming.

Having survived a tumultuous few years learning how to navigate divorce and single parenting, I am now committed to helping others survive and thrive post divorce. Drawing from my own personal experience as well as the expert knowledge I have gained from training to become an Accredited Breakup and Divorce Coach Practitioner and Professional McKenzie Friend, I’m dedicated to helping you start a new chapter in your life.

What Does A McKenzie Friend Do?

A McKenzie Friend offers calm, practical support to help you feel more confident and prepared when representing yourself in Family Court.

The majority of parents heading to family court to sort out the arrangements for their children following a divorce or separation can’t afford a solicitor or barrister. And most of those parents don't realise that there is an alternative option and you don’t have to face the process alone.

A McKenzie Friend can help you understand what to expect, get organised, and prepare everything you need for each step of your case.

While we can’t give legal advice or speak on your behalf, we can be by your side helping you stay grounded, focussed, and ready to express yourself clearly in court.

It’s about having someone in your corner who understands how stressful this can feel and who’s there to make the process a little less overwhelming.
